To be honest… I am not a huge fan of Filipino food.

Sisig. Pinakbet. Pansit. Dinuguan. Sinigang. I don’t like a lot of it. I don’t think it’s because I can’t get anyone to make it well. I think it’s just not my cup of tea. However, sweet snacks and desserts are a whole other story. Now the funny thing is, when people find out that I am Filipino, the first thing they feel compelled to tell me is how much they love our snacks and desserts. Well either this, or an attempt to say the common greeting, “Kamusta ka?” Now the sweets that are usually mentioned include the infamous halo halo, bilo bilo, cassava cake, puto and kutsinta.
